Tree Education With The Garden Classroom

Our Managing Director Rudi recently led a Tree Awareness Day at Hobbs Hill Woods for the wonderful charity The Garden Classroom. It was a great chance for Rudi to share his knowledge and love of trees to a receptive audience of primary school teachers, forest school facilitators, charity trustees and the woodland’s owners.

Rudi covered several key areas including the bio-mechanical features of trees, branch attachments and types of branch unions, trees and the law and owner/occupiers’ responsibilities. The day culminated with a walk around the woodlands to identify features that may present a possible hazard and to answer any questions that attendees might have.

Rudi is a passionate advocate of tree education and the benefits of trees and it was a real pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic people who shared his view of the positive impacts that come from spending time in woodlands and being closer to nature. It is now well documented that reconnecting with the natural environment can benefit the physical and mental wellbeing of children and adults alike.
