TLC For Your Hedges Now The Birds Have Flown The Nest!

Now that the bird nesting season is coming to a close it is time to consider whether your hedges and trees need any TLC. Our tree surgeons recently carried out a renovation prune of a large, mixed species hedge. This was scheduled to coincide with the end of the bird nesting season.

Most deciduous and broadleaved evergreen hedges can be successfully renovated to restore their vitality. Even if you regularly trim your hedges, as was the case here, they can gradually get bigger over the years. With this hedge, the diameter of most of the branches had now become too large for hedge trimmers and so required the use of secateurs and loppers.
